Corydoras Pygmaus/Harbrosis/Histatus :)
These are my faves of the moment, cant get my hands on the little buggers tho.

Theres some great Apisto cacatuoides in AV at the moment. - I got 4 yesterday :)
Any other day, Id say no. But today I'm just gonna go ahead and say NO.

yaaa.. ive been knocking around the idea of the apisto tank..... i will be useing rainwater... so i would have to lower the ph of this...and peat in the external is a no go as its will not be a stabile on consistant ph.... so how to go about this. low cost of course....

plaster paris
i dont know if this will work inside but it does in ponds
you can buy this in building shop wet it up, let it dry. put a lump or two in a stock and place it in the filter.
as i said im not sure if this is suitable for inside if you dont have fish in it yet you could try it for a week or two.it washes it away over time and if its not needed it returns to lump.

ill be trying this in a week or so myself if you want to wait ill let you know how it goes

ya dave.... cool ...keep me posted. plaster of paris is just calcium sulfate. it reacts with water thats heavly laden with co2, the more co2 present the bigger the reaction...have you got a co2 reactor in place already!
it would be interesting to see what happens... in particular ..do post the ph and kh and gh changes. and what the co2 levels were opon comencing said experiment!!!
very cool!
