Irish Fish Forum • My 200G Reef!! :D **UPDATE**

Hi all, my name is evan and im 16 and have kept fish since i was 10. I have kept almost all freshwater fish there is to keep and have moved up to marine! I was always a bit woried about keeping marine fish.. i heard ''oh its very dificult''...''Its very time consuming''...''its too much work''..''its very expensive''..blah blah blah...So anyway, i took the step towords marine fish because i love learning new things and geting the chance to learn about the water chemistry in keeping corals ect is exciting and interesting. I had a rough start into the hobby as i lost almost €500 worth of fish in the first 4 months of seting up my tank

This was a huge downer..but i pushed forward and learned from my mistakes!

I hope to turn my tank into an SPS dominated tank..but i neet the right equiptment first! I got an ATI 6x54W Dimmable with a profilux 2. I now need to get a dosing pump, good powerheads and a job to suport all this!!..too bad im only 16 :l ... So this is the start of my reef

Hi

I was away for 2 weeks so i will update asap! Have to give the tank a bit of a clean! Pump got disconected to my Phos reactor and UV Light while i was away and the tank was green :S . Will get a few pics of the sump and the tank equiptment soon

Getting a dosing pump for the sps corals soon too!

haha! Every cent i get goes into this tank! Its a great passion of mine. Heres an update on the tank now!
I recently got the Bailing Kit from Seahorse Aquariums which included a GHL Dosing pump, alk, Ca and Mg and a few other trace elements. I also got a few new corals, fish and an LED spotlight for the evening

The new corals are 4 torch corals, a galexea coral and a green star coral which was masive when i got it so i fraged it and spred it around the tank

The new fish include a LARGE Powder Blue Tang, a Gold Rim Tang, and a large Copperband Butterfly Fish. If anyone has any tips on how to keep these fish in good healt please share!
