anto kindly asked me to remove this to the cometition section..I never thought about it in that regard but I guess it is..I'm just copying the earlier thread because I'm basically a lazy git....in essence there is a €100 voucher up for grabs for the best idea to fill a 4ft clearseal tank that is going in my livingroom.treat it like your dream tank at that size..what would you do with the space available?I'm looking for a detailed scape and species list....sean says I'm too lazy to think about it..I guess he's right..tired eyes..want something nice...too busy to even think about it.I've handed over the final decision to sean as a judge so I don't get to really be involved..I'll blog it and take pictures of the winning idea..over to you headcases!

Okay so finally getting around to posting my idea.I think you should do a planted, black water south american biotope.

The Substrate:
Flourite topped with Eco complete with a fine layer of sand on top.

The Hardscape:
Large branchy pieces of Redmoor placed as if they are roots from trees trailing into the water, and some smooth river pebbles.

The Plants:
Echinodorus osiris

Alternanthera reineckii

Echinodorus tenellus

Vallisneria americana

Flame Moss - Taxiphyllum sp. (attached to the wood)

Heteranthera zosterifolia


The Fish:
Pterophyllum altum x6

apistogramma borellii x4

corydoras adolfoi x16

Red Eye Tetra x12

phantom tetra x20

whiptail plecostomus x3


Extra info:
Most of the plants i listed are heavy root feeders hence the nutrient rich substrate but the addition of pressurized co2 would really set the tank off..
