Not really but it does effect cal and alk that's why it's needed

every trace elements count regarding coral health and color.
just like the air we breathe either oxygen or carbon dioxide.
have to be balance the way it has to be otherwise we just dnt feel right or might sick because of it.

Anything I've read is consistent with the BRS video; i.e. It has no direct affect on colour or growth. You need it so that the calcium and carbonate are 'available' to be used by the corals. Without the mg the calcium and carbonate will bind together in the water and not be available to the corals.

Iv found that when my sps tank took off the mag level started to drop big time i also found that when i got on top of my mag levels the likes of birds nest corals ect... began to pop bright pink ;) as soon as i started on the balling light everything began to fall into place!!

I am lads and cant wait :P i was even over in seahores twice this week :lol: its gas how times have changed...i was very impresed with how good the lads have the shop and how they run things ;) also was amazed at all the Picasso clowns and gold flake angels that they just got in stock....back in the day it was near impossible to get any of these fish.....
i was looking on ultimatereef a while back and fell accross my totm and it brought it all back to me :) so now that im settled in our new house im planning on building an island reef in our kitchen :D :D nothing to mad maybe 4ft to 5ft max and going to run with the Zeovit system!!
Cant wait yahoo lol....
