another plate coral question

Postby carlowchris on 08 Aug 2015 16:03

Was away on holiday for a week and had a small red plating montiporia that i got from gary....some time whilst i was away it fell down the back of the tank....face down in the sand ..and has completly bleached out

any chance these corals can bounce back...assuming it was only face down for a few days or is it better to remove from tank????

Hi, I'd leave it. I had a montipora superman turn all white, and no polyps for two months and it bounced
Back :D. It can't hurt to give it a chance.

Still in the tank for now but still not sure whether to leave it there to see or not......

Planning on moving around rock which is why it wasn't glued down but got a few others at the same time and those had shifted a few times but this seemed to be a bit more secure so wasn't worried about this one but live and learn....I suppose
